Bonjour from France!
SpectrumFX is attending the Paris Air Show with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. We will be blogging from the event.
The Oklahoma delegation to the 2013 Paris Air Show opened this morning with a breakfast and networking event featuring addresses from Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, US Senator James Inhofe, and Trudo Motmans, Vice Chairman of ASCO Aerospace USA.
Governor Fallin highlighted Oklahoma’s economic achievements, with a focus on the aerospace and defense industries. Of note, Oklahoma is at the forefront of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) research, development, testing, evaluation, training and education.
Senator Inhofe emphasized the importance of the aerospace and defense industries to Oklahoma’s economy and cautioned the group about the impact of current and future defense cuts.
Trudo Motmans discussed why his firm, Belgium-based ASCO Aerospace USA, found Oklahoma an attractive place to make one its first major investments in the US. The keys: Oklahoma’s pro-business environment and central location in the nation’s economic and aviation infrastructure. ASCO recently renovated an existing manufacturing facility in Stillwater, OK for its aerospace business. http://www.stwnewspress.com/local/x1400187645/ASCO-Aerospace-USA-gears-up-for-a-mid-2014-production-startup
It’s exciting to see the state build on its strengths in the aviation industry and expand partnerships in Europe.
